It’s been a stressful week, mostly because of two big deadlines due Friday, which are both mostly necessary and almost entirely self-imposed. But I wanted to get these things done because I’m off all next week! And at the rate I’m going, I’m going to need half of next week to recover from this week.
So I’m trying to muscle through and take care of myself. Taking my meds and vitamins.
Spending time with loved ones.
And trying to eat well, like yummy linguine with shrimp, tomatoes, zucchini, and garlic butter from Georgie and Tom’s! I wanted something light with a lot of acidity to pair it with, so I chose 2020 Foucher Lebrun Sancerre Domaine de la Jolive.
This year seems to be my summer of sauvignon blanc. I had a glass of chardonnay at a family wedding last weekend after some sauv blanc, and it seemed heavy by comparison. Sauv blanc is fresh and food-friendly. The Sancerre region is in the Loire Valley in central France, and whites are always the sauvignon blanc grape.
This is one of the best sauv blancs I’ve tasted this year. I get lime as the primary aroma and flavor, and a little hint of an ocean breeze. It went great with my linguine. I highly recommend both the wine and the food.
See you on the other side!
Enjoy the well deserved time off!!!
