Did you hear there’s a possible bomb cyclone on the way in the U.S. East Coast this weekend? Of course you did, because weather news only apparently happens in the East Coast.
For the love of God, get the bread and milk!!!
We got a bomb cyclone coming! And maybe a thundergrenade, or whatever else the Weather Channel can trademark for the clicks.
It’s nice when the weather makes my natural inclination to plant myself on the couch all weekend seem like the sensible and rational thing to do. I’ve got about 106 bottles down in the cellar, and it’s been so cold I don’t even need to chill anything. My basement is too cold for human consumption, but great for wine temps. I’ve got a good one ready for curling up by the fire with: 2016 Bellingar Estates Pinot Noir.
This isn’t the most amazing Oregon pinot I’ve ever had, but good for the money. It’s bright cherry on the nose, and more of that and raspberry on the palate. Somewhat dangerously quaffable at 13.4% alcohol.
A pleasant wine to cook with and sip. Uncomplicated, a good pasta or pizza wine, and just the thing for watching British murder mysteries. Did you know BritBox has twenty-three seasons of Silent Witness to stream?! Plenty to keep myself occupied till I can dig myself out.
Stay warm, stay safe, and definitely don’t drive after you’ve had a couple glasses of this.
